Odyssey Topic Links. (Please report any bad links to me as soon as you can.)

Odyssey topics are supposed to be more complicated and subtle than wrangle topics, so wrangle topics are generally not available for odyssey writing. However, if you really want to write on one of the wrangle topics, talk to me!

Your stage one assignment is to carefully and charitably present both sides of a legal issue before going on to critique the arguments given by each side and logically determine which side is better supported by the evidence and logic available to you right now. (The other side might still be right, but you can't say it is best supported unless you have actual evidence that it is.) Remember, if you have already made up your mind about an issue and find it difficult to talk about the arguments against your position, you should probably pick another topic. If you cannot accept the possibility that the other side is right, I strongly urge you to choose another topic. If you find yourself unable to even present the other side of an issue, or can't resist immediately making negative comments about it, you should definitely choose another topic. If your "counter arguments" consist of insults, unfounded speculations or appeals to your own emotional states, you will seriously damage your grade. Remember, you don't have to change your personal beliefs. You just have to determine the logical implications of whatever information happens to be available to you. Here are the topics:
